COVID-19: Entry of Foreigners to Slovakia
The Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic updated measures on travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 disease and published a list of “low-risk countries”.
All persons who enter the territory of the Slovak Republic from 6 July 2020 and who visited a country not considered to be a „low-risk country“ from the epidemiological point of view during the previous 14 days, are ordered to remain in self-isolation until they receive the negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19. (If the person does not have a place of residence in the Slovak Republic, the isolation in a hotel or an accommodation facility is acceptable.)
This person is obliged to contact the competent Regional Public Health Authority and to undergo the laboratory diagnosis of COVID-19 not earlier than on the fifth day of self-isolation.
List of “low-risk countries” from the epidemiological point of view in relation to COVID-19, July 6, 2020 (subject to change upon further consideration by the PHA):
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands. Finland, France, Greece, Croatia, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Malta, Monaco, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Germany, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland.
Points of entry for Foreigners (including EU citizens) who have visited a country not listed as a “low-risk country” (except for the Slovak Republic) within the period of last 14 days: internal borders of the Slovak Republic with the Czech Republic, Republic of Austria, Republic of Poland and Hungary, as well as air borders (border crossing points located at the airports on the territory of the Slovak Republic) provided that they comply with the quarantine measures of the PHA. Entry of foreigners through the internal air border if flying from a country not listed as a “low-risk country” is not allowed.
Exemption form the quarantine measures may be subject to the consent of the respective ministry or the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic, as stipulated in the Measure of the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic.
